Extras (3.5\/5)<\/strong><br \/>\nThere&#8217;s nothing really wrong here with the packaging.\u00a0 Olympus was clever enough not to include any windows so that potential consumers could see the product inside.\u00a0 The toy comes with the bare minimum accessories (gun) and is housed in a thin plastic tray.\u00a0 Everything inside the box just screams &#8220;this is a bootleg&#8221; but the box itself is pretty decent.\u00a0 A small sticker sheet is also provided (pictured below).\u00a0 The item states that it is a licensed Tatsunoko product but there is no mention of either Harmony Gold or Big West so the legality of this product is definitely questionable.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00a0<a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 14.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2014.JPG?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"525\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1057\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2014.JPG?fit=525%2C96&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 14.JPG\" height=\"96\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Charm &amp; Collectibility (1\/5)<\/strong><br \/>\nIt&#8217;s sold as a genuine Macross product.\u00a0 You read that right, a Macross product.\u00a0 Not a Mospeada product, which would fit the bill far more accurately.\u00a0 Anyway, it&#8217;s clearly a Legioss toy so Mospeada fans *might* be interested in owning one.\u00a0 Other than those diehards (and a few Robotech collectors) there will be no crowd pounding the streets looking for this toy.\u00a0 It features no diecast, no transformation, and practically no appeal.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 31.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2031.JPG?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"525\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1059\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2031.JPG?fit=525%2C96&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 31.JPG\" height=\"96\" \/><\/a><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 5.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%205.JPG?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"525\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1060\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%205.JPG?fit=525%2C96&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 5.JPG\" height=\"96\" \/><\/a><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 7.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%207.JPG?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"525\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1061\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%207.JPG?fit=525%2C96&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 7.JPG\" height=\"96\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sculpt, Detail, and Paint (3.5\/10)<\/strong><br \/>\nIt&#8217;s a Macross product (apparently) so I guess that explains the UN Spacy logo that adorns this thing.\u00a0 Basically, it&#8217;s an amalgamation of &#8220;that&#8217;s not quite right.&#8221;\u00a0 That said, the toy does resemble a Legioss&#8230; although it&#8217;s pretty clear that no one tried too hard to keep it anywhere near faithful to the lineart.\u00a0 No detail is painted on the toy, the color pattern is wrong (since it&#8217;s made entirely of pre-colored plastics), but some stickers (anime incorrect) do come pre-applied.\u00a0 The back of the toy is completely wrong.\u00a0 Below is a comparison pic with a Gakken 1\/55 Diecast 2x Changer Legioss.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00a0<a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 15.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2015.JPG?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"525\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1062\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2015.JPG?fit=525%2C96&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 15.JPG\" height=\"96\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Design (4.5\/10)<\/strong><br \/>\nThere&#8217;s no transformation here so there&#8217;s not much to speak about from a design standpoint.\u00a0 The toy is light overall with a large base so it&#8217;s pretty sturdy in the few positions you can try to pose it in.\u00a0 What would be the nose of the plane is removeable but not for any particular reason.\u00a0 There are no real frills to speak of here anywhere.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>\u00a0<a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 10.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2010.JPG?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"525\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1064\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2010.JPG?fit=525%2C96&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 10.JPG\" height=\"96\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Durability &amp; Build (8\/10)<\/strong><br \/>\nI see absolutely no reason to believe that any part of this toy is fragile and the construction is totally simple so there aren&#8217;t a whole lot of ways that the toy can be mucked up in manufacture.\u00a0 Joints might be expected to wear fairly quickly under considerable play but there isn&#8217;t a whole lot you can do with them so I don&#8217;t think it really would be an issue.\u00a0 Since no paint has been applied it won&#8217;t pose a problem for chipping.\u00a0 I suppose sticker wear\/fade may be an issue as well as yellowing over time.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>\u00a0<a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 16.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2016.JPG?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"525\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1063\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/anymoon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Stig%20Legioss%20Bootleg%20small%2016.JPG?fit=525%2C96&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Stig Legioss Bootleg small 16.JPG\" height=\"96\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Articulation (5\/10)<\/strong><br \/>\nWhat you get is a head that turns, a shoulder-mount that turns, arms that move independent of each other, elbows that bend, legs that move independent of each other, and knees with limited mobility.\u00a0 That may sound fairly decent but without more foot articulation there really isn&#8217;t much that can be done here.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re familiar with Gakken&#8217;s 1\/55 diecast effort, imagine that toy with less foot mobility and without the chest pieces that could be angled up or down (but with a head that could be turned) and you&#8217;ll get a good idea what this is like.\u00a0 There are some easy joints that are missing (the toy doesn&#8217;t transform, why not give it a waist?) and some more complicated ones (ball-joints?)\u00a0so basically you&#8217;ll end up posing this toy stiff as a board.\u00a0 My judging criteria would dictate that this score should be higher but the articulation points are all fairly limited in mobility so I&#8217;m not giving them full credit.<br \/>\n<strong>Total Score (25.5\/50)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe only place this toy scores average or above is in the packaging and durability departments.\u00a0 If you made a really neat box for a chunk of marble though you&#8217;d come pretty close in score to this toy overall.\u00a0 It&#8217;s really bad.\u00a0 If you have a child that&#8217;s getting into Robotech and don&#8217;t want them anywhere near your far more fragile Alpha offerings then you might pick this toy up to bide your time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 REVIEW: Yes, it does say &#8220;Macross&#8221;
